"Not having paid enough attention to the dimensions I was a little surprised by how small the bench is. I think only two very small children indeed could fit on it. However it is cheap and simple to fit together. Don't let the photo mislead you, the lid is not hinged and just sits on the box. We are painting ours to match our baby's nursery and if you do similar would recommend you assemble it first and lay out the pieces in order and the side pieces have holes that are not central so need to be the correct way around. We are also going to make a cushion for the top and think it will be rather lovely when finished. In summary, the bench is affordable and particularly suitable for finishing yourself."
