"It's not 'chrome' its chrome coloured plastic - and, as with the other item I had before this one, doesn't feel very substantial. The 'chrome' is very shiny - which also mans that it shows every drop, splash and speck of dust - would drive a cleaning freak mad. Mechanism seems fine and seems to give accurate and consistent results."

"Solid, well built scales, feel like they will last unlike some electronic versions. Easy to read your weight from the dial but you do need to "re-set" the dial at zero each time you weigh.
If you want a set of no-nonsense, solid, easy to use scales - go for these."

"liked my talking scales but they broke.liked them because could jump on without my glasses on.bought the salter scales as the dial
was large and clear,but find you can keep getting on and off them and they read differently
every time,in my case still need to make sure
I have my glasses on to see the dial."
