"I've been using digital voice recorders for many years, and have come the the conclusion that in this field, Philips products stand head and shoulders above the other makes. It's not that there's anything wrong with other voice recorders, it's just that Philips models do everything exceptionally well.
The DVT5000 has exactly the same specification as the more expensive DVT5500, which just has a couple more accessories, such as a micro SD card as part of the deal. The 'three microphone' system allows for excellent recording quality, especially when recording in the highest quality, PCM mode. Speech quality using the built in microphones is easily good enough for recording radio interviews, etc.
All in all, a great recorder that also plays mps 3, and with a bulit in FM radio tuner too!"
Yes, I recommend this product.

"This recorder is just brilliant. It has everything I need. USB rechargeable batteries, PC connection, lightweight, 4GB inbuild memory, a slot for additional memory and most of all you do not have to fiddle with sensitivity of the microphone if you do not want to. It has an option to do it automatically for you depending on the environment. Recording sound is very clear too. For those who like to fiddle with settings, there is plenty to play around. I just leave it at AutoZoom as it does such a good job."
